Bloomington High School held their annual career, Future’s Night, on Sept. 10. The event gave students the opportunity to network with future schools and employers and a chance to prepare for what life has in store for them after high school. Over 30 local schools and businesses attended the event setting up their booths inside the Bloomington HS gymnasium. Many attendees of the career fair included school and businesses such as the University of Redlands, San Joaquin Valley College, Brandman University, San Bernardino School Probation Officers and San Bernardino Department of Public Health, among others. Students and parents alike were awed by the many options that were available for them in the future. Adrian Orozco, a junior at Bloomington High School said, “I’m interested in focusing on business administration as my major. The welding booth also seems interesting.” Some students obtained information from the larger universities such as UCR, UCLA, and La Sierra University. As an incoming sophomore, Victory Idehen shared a few of her future ambitions, “I visited the UCLA and UCR booth. In the future, I plan to be in the medical field somehow, maybe a Pediatrician or some kind of doctor.” The over 200 attending students and parents took full advantage of the resources available during the event, leaving with dozens of pamphlets, business cards, and information flyers from the different schools and businesses.
