Semi vs. Building

A semi-truck with attached 53’ trailer was traveling from eastbound Valley Blvd. to southbound 9th Street. The driver attempted to turn the corner without sufficient clearance. The right side of the trailer struck an adjacent business causing minor damage to the structure and major damage to the trailer. There were no injuries as a result of this. The trailer was loaded with 38,000 lbs of retail beauty supplies (shampoo, conditioner). Heavy tow trucks were summoned to remove the damaged trailer. Southbound lanes of 9th Street south of Valley were closed for a short time while work crews transferred the cargo into another trailer.
