Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) commemorates an important milestone as it celebrates 25 years of providing exceptional health care services to the community. The current ARMC building in Colton was dedicated in March 1999 by then-Hospital Director Charles Jervis. Since then, ARMC has remained committed to its mission of serving its diverse community with high-quality, compassionate care (See the video here).

Along with its quarter-century journey, ARMC has achieved numerous milestones, including earning Level II Trauma verification from the American College of Surgeons in 2006, setting a gold standard for trauma excellence in the region. Building upon this achievement, ARMC reached another milestone in 2022 by becoming a Level l Trauma Center, further solidifying its position as a world-class health care institution dedicated to saving lives and improving outcomes for patients.

ARMC has received numerous awards and recognitions over the past 25 years, including accolades from organizations such as the National Association of Counties, U.S. News & World Report, the American Heart Association, Inland Empire Magazine, and the Southern California News Group. These awards serve as a testament to ARMC’s unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care.

Over ARMC’s next quarter century the hospital will continue to engage with the community through various initiatives such as the community 5K Walk/Run, Farmers Market, Emergency Medical Services and Tactical Medicine Expo, Integrated Community Health, Adolescent Behavioral Health, and additional strategic partnerships aimed at expanding services and outreach efforts.

ARMC is a 456-bed university-affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the California Department of Public Health, operated by San Bernardino County, and governed by the Board of Supervisors. It is ARMC’s mission, in an environment of learning and innovation, to serve our diverse community with high-quality, compassionate care. The hospital, located on a 70-acre campus in Colton, operates the Edward G. Hirschman Burn Center, a Level I Trauma Center, a comprehensive stroke center, a behavioral health center, and five primary care centers. ARMC also provides more than 40 outpatient specialty care services. ARMC is helping to achieve the Countywide Vision by addressing the community’s wellness and educational needs. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM). The university welcomed its first class of students in 2018.
