Early Sunday morning on February 18, 2018 at around 1:41 am the Colton Police Department had their officers respond to a report of shots heard and one person down. Upon arriving at Linko’s Cocktail Lounge, where the shooting occurred, the officers were able to locate the victim that was suffering from the gunshot wound. The victim was 31 year old Krystal Ramirez.
According to the news release from Colton Police Department, Ramirez was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after the incident at the lounge. Colton Police Department report that she was shot inside of the Linko’s establishment, however, the reasoning and circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown and still being investigated.
A small memorial was set up in front of the Linko's Cocktail Lounge establishment for Ramirez outside of the front door of the establishment. Krystal Ramirez worked as a substitute teacher and leaves behind a 10 year old daughter who may have autism. Investigators do not have a description of the suspect and are asking for any witnesses who may have saw the incident or events that led to the altercation. The investigation is ongoing at this time by the Colton Police Department Detective Bureau.
