“Based on information from law enforcement and district officials, Los Angeles Unified School District schools are closed today because of a “credible threat of violence.” In San Bernardino County, no K-12 school districts have reported being closed this morning, although San Bernardino Valley College also remains closed because of a credible threat made on Monday. As more information becomes available, County Schools will provide updates throughout the day,” said Theodore “Ted” Alejandre.
“At this time, all schools in Riverside County are on regular schedule without any closures reported. We will be monitoring the LAUSD situation throughout the day,” said Craig Petinak, director, public relations & communications services, Office of the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools.
According the Valley College web site, “The San Bernardino City Police have cleared campus for reopening on Wednesday, Dec. 16. Final exams will resume as scheduled on Wednesday. A final exam makeup schedule will be posted on the website this afternoon. All campus offices will reopen Wednesday morning per their regular schedule.”
Christmas holiday vacations or the “Winter Break” starts soon for many K-12 school districts in San Bernardino County. The break starts this week on the 17 for Colton Joint Unified School Districts and the 18 for the San Bernardino and Redlands school districts.
Classes resume in Colton on Jan. 12 and in Redlands and San Bernardino on Jan. 11.
Redlands Unified School District includes Redlands, Loma Linda, Mentone, Forest Falls, and portions of San Bernardino and Highland.
The San Bernardino Unified School District includes San Bernardino.
The Colton Joint Unified School District covers, Colton, Grand Terrace and Bloomington.
