The upcoming General Election will hold its last voting date on November 8, 2022. For the city of Colton, there are two candidates running for Council Member- District 3, one is Luis S. González.
Here is their statement:
Luis S. González
Retired Teacher/Councilmember
"Thank you for the opportunity to run as a candidate for Colton City Council District 3. I pray my words, intentions and actions have demonstrated my commitment to this challenge.
For 23 years, I have served many students at Colton High School. Our experiences together included both campus and community performances all contributing to our city's cultural life. Many former students have successfully continued with their education and have contributed back to the community.
I have also had the honor of serving you as a Council Member since 2014. My activities include council work, community organizations, clean-up projects, beautification projects, Colton history presentations, veterans, churches, businesses, educators, youth, neighborhood meetings, livestream programs, and numerous CITY TALK events. Additionally, I write for the Colton Courier and Colton City News, and have authored the book "WWII Veterans in Colton."
My primary goals are to listen carefully to the residents; promote communication, collaboration, and transparency among city stakeholders; improve business relations; and promote Colton's rich history.
Those who know me know that I will listen, be available, work in the community, attend community activities, discuss important topics, assist our residents and make the right decision.
Respectfully,
Dr. Luis S. González (Gal 5:22)"
