On Saturday morning, the Colton Public Library opened its doors for the launch of the In-N-Out Burger's Cover to Cover Spring Program. Beginning March 1st every five books read, up to fifteen, children ages 4-12 will receive a coupon for a free hamburger at In-N-Out. The program will run until April 12th and is designed to encourage children to visit the library and read more books. The Colton Public Library has once again partnered with In-N-Out to bring Colton residents the spring reading program "Cover to Cover." Having partnered with In-N-Out various times over the past five years, this is one of the many programs that the Colton Public Library offers its community with incentives in order to draw young readers through its doors. Having offered various incentives through their reading programs in the past such as free wallets, passes to LEGOLAND, coupons for free pizza, and swim passes, to name a few. "There isn't a goal in terms of how many kids we get, but the greater number we get the better," said Library Clerk Hector Palacios. The program hopes to draw a large number of children with their parents to the library so that everyone can pick up a book and read, but most importantly, so that kids can satisfy their appetite for books and hamburgers! When asked why the library has chosen to partner with In-N-Out for this reading program, Palacios stated, "In-N-Out will be sure to draw the kids. What would be the better incentive: a bookmark for reading or a free hamburger? The purpose of this program is to get kids to read and open their minds. Reading is not only going to open their minds to new fantasies and creativity, but also help them in their education and as they grow into future individuals." While this program is aimed for children, adults and teens are also encouraged to visit the Colton Library and take advantage of the services that the library offers to the community. "We offer a variety free services and volunteer opportunities to our community that not many people are aware of," said Lisa Sandoval, one of the friendly library clerks. The In-N-Out Burger's Cover to Cover Spring Reading Program is free, parents are simply required to go to the library, ask about the program, and have a valid library card.
