With the growing popularity of electric bicycles (e-bikes), the City of Moreno Valley is hosting a free E-Bike Safety Workshop on Wednesday, September 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Moreno Valley Conference & Recreation Center.
The community workshop will bring together City staff, safety partners, and vendors to provide e-bike safety education, share community resources, and answer residents' questions about California's e-bike laws, rider responsibilities, and safe riding practices.
“E-bikes have become an increasingly popular transportation and recreation option for residents of all ages,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “This workshop allows our community to learn how to ride safely, understand e-bike laws, and connect together with local organizations that are helping make Moreno Valley a safer place for everyone.”
During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Learn About e-Bike Classifications: Understand California’s three e-bike classifications and where each can legally operate.
- Know the Rules: Learn about helmet requirements, traffic laws, and rider responsibilities.
- Ride Safely: Explore safety tips for riding around pedestrians, motorists, and other cyclists.
- Connect with Community Resources: Meet participating agencies and vendors offering information related to e-bike safety.
