Since 1957, El Burrito is a local family restaurant that has served the people of Colton and the local community homemade Mexican dishes in an old-school atmosphere.
After four generations of family members working and passing down authentic recipes, the beloved El Burrito sadly informs the public that the restaurant will be closing on Saturday, Nov. 14.
“We have customers that have brought their kids and grandkids here to eat and or show them where they ate while growing up or attending Colton High or Valley College,” stated on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “We have old customers who like to stop by [to] have lunch and tell us about the first time they ate here with a date that became their wife or after a football game, etc. When I am wearing one of my El Burrito shirts while out and about, I will get stopped and told several times about how this person loves our food or some old story that they knew my family.”
The family encourages the community to come out on Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14 for their final two days, taste “The Original” recipes, and exchange stories of the past 60 years of
eating at the Colton El Burrito.
The owners and staff members want to thank the community for their support and let them know that the El Burrito in Redlands is open and will continue with the same old recipes.
The restaurant will be open from Nov. 10-12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The final two days will be Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
