A traffic collision on the 2400 block of La Cadena Drive in Colton killed one man in the early hours of Aug. 24.
Police responded to a call of the fatal collision at 4:50 a.m. Sunday morning, where they found the driver of a 2001 Honda Civic and pronounced him dead on scene, according to a release issued by the Colton Police Department.
The department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was also called out to investigate the collision.
The release states the driver was traveling southbound on La Cadena Drive when he struck a parked box truck from behind. There were no passengers in the Civic and the truck was not occupied at the time of the collision, according to the release.
Police are withholding the name of the victim as the investigation is ongoing.
The Colton Police’s traffic division is investigating the collision.
