NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver Aric Almirola will be a guest speaker at the 7th Annual Auto Club Speedway S.T.E.M. Day on Friday, March 18 - Sprint Cup Qualifying Day - as part of the Auto Club 400 Weekend.
Nearly 500 eighth grade students from 17 schools in San Bernardino and Riverside counties will learn about why science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) are extremely important to the motorsports industry. The students will spend the day participating in a series of hands-on activities demonstrating how concepts are used in the sport of racing. The event will be held at the Speedway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT.
As part of their sponsorship for a third consecutive year, King Taco will be rewarding students with a pair of reserved grandstand tickets to the Auto Club 400 race that will take place on Sunday, March 20, 2016.
New partner, Jersey Mike’s Subs, will sponsor the S.T.E.M. Day lunch hour by serving their signature subs.

The 2016’s Auto Club Speedway S.T.E.M. Day is coordinated and implemented by a collaborative led by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools’ Alliance for Education. The collaborative partners include: Alliance for Education; Auto Club Speedway; Chaffey College; John Elway’s Crown Toyota; San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools; San Bernardino Community College District; San Bernardino Valley College; MESA Program, University of California, Riverside; Toyota Financial Services; and Toyota Motor Sales. This year the event is made possible by funding from San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Toyota Financial Services, John Elway’s Crown Toyota, Toyota Motor Sales, King Taco, Goodyear, Jersey Mike’s Subs and Inland Empire United Way.
The Auto Club Speedway S.T.E.M. Day program is part of Auto Club Speedway’s major youth initiative which provides area youth with a positive and enriching outlook on life inspiring achievement and education in an effort to build future race fans.
