Annual Read Across America Day (in honor of the great Dr. Seuss), on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

It’s that time again! Paul J. Rogers Elementary School in Colton will observe the National Education Association's (NEA) annual Read Across America Day (in honor of the great Dr. Seuss), on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Help celebrate by participating as a reader and join us – for a flurry (or furry) of reading excitement! All research shows that when children read outside of school, they do better in school. Coast to coast, teachers, celebrities, community members and parents have joined together to find ways to rekindle students’ passion for reading. Now, you can help, by reading in a classroom! You may bring your own book, or select one from our library. You pick the grade level (kindergarten through sixth grade) and read to one or as many classes as you like! Readers are welcome on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, anytime between 7:40 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Come join us and celebrate your own special way, and make this America’s Read to Kids Day! If you would like to participate as a reader or need more information, please contact Veronica Gonzales, Project Office Assistant.
