Colton Fire Responds to Structure Blaze

Colton Fire units responded to a commercial structure fire in the Plaza Las Glorias Shopping Center on Jan. 8, to find light smoke conditions with fire alarms sounding and water flowing from the fire sprinkler system. The fire was located in the façade area above the business entrances and was held in check by the fire sprinklers until firefighters could locate the exact location of the fire and completely extinguish it. One firefighter suffered an ankle injury during the incident. Four engines, two ladder trucks and two chief officers responded to the incident, including mutual aid units from San Bernardino City Fire. The cause is still under investigation.
