Last week a large group of friends of Dr.G came to Pizzadilly Restaurant to celebrate friendship, community and positive vibes. The celebration started promptly as usual, and was adorned with table decorations, campaign signs, and lots of friendly faces. DrG is running for Colton City Council District 3 and has amassed a nice following of supporters who want to continue on a positive path that compliments a strong record of accomplishments which includes dozens of service requests, many physical improvements in our community and an impressive track record of positive community events such as Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Earp Day, and much more. The gathering was filled with energy and joy. After the opening prayer, Kash led the flag salute followed by the playing of “America” on the trumpet. The evening was highlighted by the enjoyable G-Stories that were presented by Carrie, Dino, MaryCarmen, Veronica and Rachel. “Those stories are always fun,” says Kathy Ambrose who came to help the sign-in process. The speakers told interesting stories and made everyone smile. From community events to special projects, to businesses starts and programs for youth, each of the speakers had a lot to say, and a lot to share about times with Dr.G. “This was an awesome gathering,” says good friend Dino Martinez who continued, “The plan was simple: plenty of pizza, great stories, lots of positive conversation, and cake.” The stories that were told were very cool,“ said Jackie Ficarotta who admitted, “For Dr.G, the purpose of the gathering was to have a pizza party with friends enjoying the time together.” The people who attended had a great time eating delicious pizza made by Sherwin Mariano, owner of Pizzadilly, who along with his crew, Denise and Jose, prepared everything just right for a fantastic pizza-party celebration. Twelve pizzas were ordered which were covered with a variety of toppings, including a special vegetarian style pizza for DrG. Anna Juarez, of the Colton Chamber made a beautiful cake, and two young Dr.G supporters, Jackie and Scarlette, enthusiastically offered to help pass out the cake plates. Approximately 50 people attended this event, and great stories about Dr. G were well-received, as were the large number of cards and messages of support.  “It was a blessing to have so many friends come to the pizza party,’ reflected Dr.G, who added, ”everyone had a great time. enjoyed the food, and enjoyed the stories. Of course, what event is complete without everyone wanting to take a picture with Dr.G., who took dozens of photos with his guests, and posted them on his FB page. For those who know Dr.G, which are many in the community, knows that he maintains close contact with the residents. He is available, is always willing to help as much as possible, and…willing to “roll up his sleeves.” Congratulations to Dr.G on another successful community event.  May he be blessed with good health and good spirit, and may his service to the community continue to be a blessing to all those with whom he comes into contact.
