Frontline Encounter, a men’s group from Centerpoint Church, hosted the fourth annual Car Care Day on Saturday, Oct. 25 beginning at 9 a.m. at Centerpoint Church in Colton.
Sixteen single mothers, widows, single women, disabled and elderly members of the church received a safety check and items such as wiper blades, burned-out bulbs, and tire pressure and fluid levels were checked and replaced or filled.
Other items were checked and corrected if possible.
This was an effort to make sure that the cars are safe and will have all lights and windshield wipers working as the time changes and drivers may drive in the dark more often.
This is also an opportunity for the men to work together and get to know each other.
One vehicle had its serpentine belt replaced because it was about to fail, which would have left the owner stranded.
Many wiper blades were replaced, allowing the drivers to see clearly in the rain.
