COLTON>> Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is encouraging people to focus this month on healthy eating and developing lifelong practices for eating well-balanced meals as part of National Nutrition Month. The hospital’s Executive Chef, Eyad Joseph, presented a “Lunch & Learn” cooking demo on Tuesday, March 21 in which Joseph prepared two recipes featuring an Asian flair and using fresh ingredients from the hospital’s Farmers Market. The interactive event included food tasting of the final dishes and copies of the recipes. “Developing a consistent healthy eating program as a lifelong commitment reduces the risk of health issues and provides the body with an optimal source of nutrition, resulting in overall well-being,” Joseph said. “Those attending the cooking demo can learn not only a few new healthy recipes, but ways to incorporate healthy eating into everyday meals.” Year-round, ARMC said the hospital encourages healthy eating with fresh vegetables, fruits and more, available at the weekly Farmers’ Market held every Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is set up just outside the main entrance to the hospital and the public is invited to visit and shop for produce, baked goods, nuts and other items.
