Smoke and the sound of sirens filled the air Monday afternoon as drivers on Barton Road witnessed a fire at a vacant building on Washington Street. The structure, located at 1880 E Washington St., Colton, CA 92324, was once home to the Edge Fitness Center. Responding swiftly, local fire stations collaborated to contain the flames before they could pose a hazard to the surrounding area. Fire engines from Station 231 and Engine Battalion 403 were among the first on the scene, working together to extinguish the blaze. Thanks to their quick response, the fire was fully under control before it could spread, ensuring the safety of nearby properties and residents.
