Is Foot Pain Freezing Your 2022 Plans?

Do any one of these foot problems sound familiar?

  • Foot pain that is sharp and usually on one foot?
  • Heel pain that gets worse after you sit or lay down
  • Pain that is worse with those first few steps out of bed in the morning
  • Pain at first but somehow it gets better the more you walk on it or “warm it up.”

If you answered yes to any one of these problems, you most likely have plantar fascial dysfunction.

Plantar fascial dysfunction is the most common type of plantar fascia disease and is the most common reason for heel pain, as it is responsible for 80% of cases. The condition tends to occur more often in women than men. Plantar fascial dysfunction is estimated to affect 1 in 10 people at some point during their lifetime and most commonly affects people between 40–60 years of age.

There could be a variety of different reasons why you are needlessly suffering from this connective tissue disease:

  • Maybe you run excessively.
  • Maybe you stand on a hard surface for prolonged periods of time.
  • Maybe you have genetically high arches.
  • Maybe you have a leg length inequality.
  • Maybe you have flat feet.
  • Maybe you are chronically tight in your Achilles tendon.
  • Or maybe you are wearing inappropriate shoes.

Whatever the case is, there is rarely an easy one step solution. I have treated thousands of feet over my last 15 years of clinical practice, and feet are so freakishly strong and resilient that it’s amazing the abuse we put our feet through. However, when something goes wrong with them, our whole life changes.

What we enjoy doing for fun is quickly given a painful and debilitating symptom. Next, limited social encounters are planned, daily pain, stress, anxiety, limited mobility, and loss of balance continue to develop. The fear of standing or walking too far due to the pain that will show up. Neglect of foot apparel due to the likelihood of pain and dysfunction setting in if a ‘nice’ shoe is worn for too long…

Maybe you have tried the following interventions: rest, ice, elevation, acupuncture, dry needling, ultrasound, iontophoresis, foot inserts, massage, oils, kinesiology tapes, or all the above.

Have any of these interventions worked for you? Have they worked long-term?

If they haven’t and you are looking for real results and not a cookie cut option of symptoms-only treatment and intervention, I invite you to visit our website or give us a call at Rendon Physical Therapy. There are many options to choose from in this area, but only one therapist in the Inland Empire is educated, dedicated, licensed, and certified to treat and resolve the real issues at the base of your foot or in your leg. Dr. Rendon DSc, DPT, uses a hands-on approach (Myofascial Release) and will identify the real root problem, and will give you the metrics on how it will go away and stay away for good.

Myofascial Release is a whole-body intervention that is dedicated to treating the body and providing structural-fascial mobility to assist the body in returning to a balanced state of being.

Dysfunction leads to disease, not just a connective tissue balance but in fluid dynamics, nerve processing, and sensory balance.

If you think you or someone you know is ready to experience a revolutionary, manual intervention that is holistic, non-traumatizing, effective, and progressive, then I encourage you to call or text us at 909-796-0012 or visit www.rendonpt.org.

We would love to schedule a complimentary consult with the only physical therapist in the Inland Empire who provides this specialized and highly skilled intervention. Call today, ask for Bianca (our front office manager) and request 1 of our 4 complimentary in-person consult spots available this week.

Can you imagine what walking pain-free could feel like? It’s possible.
