The Colton Area Museum on Jan. 11, will welcome speaker Scott Klemm to talk about his new book. The "Unlocking the Portals of History through the Lock and Key Collection of Scott J. Klemm" author will also be showing a powerpoint presentation. Copies of the book will available for purchase during the event, which begins at 2 p.m. Klemm began as a teenager collecting locks and keys, growing his lifelong interest in the history of locks and their makers. He was a teacher at Colton Jr. High and at Colton High School for 26 total years. A new special exhibit, “Through the Keyhole,” featuring locks and keys on loan from the Scott J. Klemm collection, is now showing in the Fisk Gallery of the San Bernardino County Museum. The meeting will take place at the Colton Area Museum, downstairs in the Hazel Olson Hall. The next meeting will take place March 8 and will feature Colton High School assistant principal Victor Schiro, who will speak on the history of Colton High School and reveal some little known facts.
