Bedazzled Car Exemplifies Portable Christmas Spirit

This year's 1,800 lights rival last year's total 1,600, explained Gutierrez. He added lights to the gas tank, the centers of each tire, plastic underneath the car, around the license plate, on the door handles and rear-view mirrors.

Gutierrez said he has been happy to drive the car around to friends and others interested in seeing it and may be unable to travel to his home directly.

"Everybody comes out to see it. They love it," Gutierrez said of his car, which he has been decorating for the Christmas holiday for a few years now. "You're never going to see another car like this in California."
