Gun Store Holds Grand Opening

COLTON >> Colton’s newest tenants, Blue Collar Firearms, celebrated a successful grand opening with 100+ people in attendance from all over the Inland Empire. During the event, visitors enjoyed a wide variety of donations from vendors through a free opportunity drawing, including Carnivore Candy beef jerky, protective eyewear and cup oozies. Visitors also enjoyed free food and drinks from local vendors, along with an announcement from guest speaker Mayor Pro Tem Isaac Suchil. During the event, a moment of silence was held for the victims of the Orlando terrorist attack. “(We) provide the highest level of customer service offering guidance and information in a kind, respectful manner,” said Trisha Kinney, owner of Blue Collar Firearms. The store, which is owned by the Kinney family, began as Blue Collar Parts and Accessories last year but only partook in the parts business. In September 2015, the owners began discussing having a retail store, and in October, got the conversation rolling into motion. “After researching several spaces and having discussions with city officials, the City of Colton was receptive and supportive to the idea of opening a gun store in their city,” Kinney said. During the grand opening, the first 25 customers received goodie bags that held promotional items from Glock, Trinity Force, Hogue and Mission First Tactical. At the store, a wider range of products is available, including new and used handguns, rifles and shotguns, ammunition, safety glasses, ear protection, cleaning supplies, carrying cases, shooting targets and more. Kinney said Blue Collar will also be offering a basic handgun safety seminar later on in the summer. “The class will be geared to brand new shooters and will demonstrate safe handling, sight picture, sight alignment and the process to purchase a firearm,” she said. Along with local and Inland Empire residents, local elected officials also made an appearance at the grand opening. “The community has been very supportive,” Kinney said. “Customers have been very excited to have a gun store in Colton and appreciate having a local, independently owned store in their town.” If you have an interest in the type of products and services Blue Collar Firearms has to offer, it might be just the right location for you. “Experience the difference at Blue Collar, where your opinion matters,” Kinney said.
