Colton police responded Saturday evening to the 1000 block of S. La Cadena Street, regarding the brandishing of a firearm with multiple shots fired, according to a release issued by the Colton Police Department. Responding officers who had a suspect and car description, were able to locate the vehicle at an apartment building on the 100 block of E. M St., where they detained three males. A fourth suspect, armed with a handgun, ran from the vehicle and forced his way into an apartment where he fought with the occupants. The man then ran to another apartment and barricaded himself with juveniles. The Inland Valley SWAT team and hostage negotiators were requested to respond to the scene. During the evacuation of the second floor, the suspect was contacted by SWAT team members and removed without incident. The juveniles did not appear to have been harmed and were reunited with their parents. The investigation is continuing. If anyone has any information regarding this investigation or may be a victim, contact Det. R. Wilson at 909-370-5021.
