On January 26th, 2024 one driver was arrested and five drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license. 308 vehicles total went through the checkpoint and 204 of the 308 vehicles were screened for objective signs and symptoms of intoxication or driving while suspended/unlicensed at a DUI checkpoint on 01/26/24. The DUI checkpoint was held in the 1900 block of West Valley Blvd. from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads. The next DUI checkpoint will be held on 03/15/24. Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
