On May 25, 2017 at approximately 8:05 P.M. officers responded to 1430 East Cooley Dr, Colton in reference to a possible suicide. Upon arrival officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound.  The male was pronounced deceased by paramedics. A short time later a female was located in the 1100 block of North Mt. Vernon Ave suffering from a gunshot wound.  The female was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

Investigators learned that the male and female had a past dating relationship and were recently estranged. The male confronted the female in the parking lot of the location, shot her and then shot himself.  Several of the victim’s family members were present during the shooting and transported the victim a short distance away from the scene and then called 911.  Names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  The investigation is being conducted by the Colton Police Detective Division with assistance from the San Bernardino Sheriff's Crime Scene Investigations.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Colton Police Department, Detective Jaeger at        (909) 370-5028 or (909) 370-5000.
