Thanksgiving Day dinners at the Hutton and Luque Centers in Colton were a hugh success. Attending were 572 residents and friends of Colton with 790 meals served.
Many of the 172 volunteers helped in food preparation, set tables, helped with the raffles and gift cards. Other volunteers were from Colton High School and Middle School. Younger children colored placemats to decorate the tables. Other volunteers provided music.
At Hutton Center, Dr. G (Luis Gonzales) and at the Luque Center a musical group from Loma Linda, Advent Hope, inspired the people with their violin quartet. Colton Calvary Christian Fellowship provided medical and hygiene kits. Clothing was donated plus 1900 pounds of non-perishable food.
Colton Holiday Express donated much needed bedding. Donating turkeys was Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown and Shareece Wright. Managers Kelly Phelps and Chris Rymer said a good time was had by all.
