The Colton Community Services Department is pleased to offer swim lessons for all ages and levels at the Gonzales Community Center in Colton. With midsummer in full swing, cooling off or working out in the pool are great summertime activities. To stay safe and active, take advantage of the swim lessons taught throughout the season. Swim lessons are held Monday through Friday for two-week sessions, with classes scheduled through the end of August. Various swim levels include: • Parent & Me – Platypus (6 months-3 years) • Level 1 – Polliwog (3-4 1/2 years) • Level 2 – Tadpoles (3-4 1/2 years) • Level 3 – Guppies (3-4 1/2 years) • Level 4 – Turtles (5-16 years) • Level 5 – Seals (5-16 years) • Level 6 – Walrus (5-16 years) • Level 7 – Dolphins (5-17 years) • Level 8 – Whales (5-17 years) Swimmers must participate in a swim test BEFORE first registration to ensure placement in correct level (does not include Parent & Me classes). Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. To ensure proper tracking of swim progress, participants may only register for one session at a time. Participants registered in a session may register for their next session the final Friday after receiving their swim lesson report card. All classes are subject to time changes, merging, and/or cancellation, if minimum number is not met. The fee for Swim Lessons is $42 for residents and $47 for non-residents, per session. Swim Lessons will be held at the Gonzales Community Center at 670 Colton Avenue in Colton. For more information, please call the Gonzales Community Center at (909)370-6153.
