A look at Colton's business climate and plans for future development on the city's west side will be the topic of discussion when Colton's Economic Development Manager Art Morgan speaks at the Colton Area Museum on Saturday. The guest speaker program, an ongoing program hosted by the museum, will take place Feb. 14 at 2:30 p.m. at the Colton Area Museum, 380 N. La Cadena Drive. "He is a seasoned redevelopment, community development and economic development professional with a passion and commitment to the industry, and to the city of Colton," shared Dr. Luis Gonzalez, a city councilmember and museum docent. "Mr. Morgan’s education and administrative experience with perspectives from both the public and private sectors gives him a balanced viewpoint to garner the city's vision, have the knowledge to implement, and complete projects or programs on time and within budget." "While much has been accomplished, we recognize that much remains to be done," shared Morgan, who has been with the City of Colton since Sept. 2010. Morgan pointed to growing retail, warehouse industrial and manufacturing development opportunities in the area. The guest speaker program will follow the museum's regular Saturday museum hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The museum is also open Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m.
