Doris Boyd Memoir

Doris Boyd, born July 4 1936, passed away recently on April 2, 2014 as a result of contracting lung cancer. The wife of Charles Boyd, Doris was a vigorous and outgoing woman, who enjoyed visiting her family whenever possible; like any grandparent, she absolutely doted on her grandchildren. Though a habitual smoker, she set herself the goal of quitting and managed to succeed. She was also an avid collector of the toys that came with McDonalds’ Kids Meal, often trying to collect the entire set of whichever toy line was currently given away. The food wasn’t as important to her as the toys were; more often than not she wouldn’t even finish the meal. But collecting those toys brought her a sense of accomplishment and joy; for her, it was simple things like this that brought her happiness. Her passing has created a large void, in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be missed.
