102nd NOS Citrus Fair Celebrates Local Heroes

ALL>> Beginning May 4, and ending May 14, residents are invited to the 102nd NOS Citrus Fair to celebrate local heroes. 

NOS, which stands for National Orange Show, is  a fun filled event that features vendors, carnival rides, and more. 

All eight days of the NOS Citrus Fair have something different to offer those who attend. 

On Thursday, May 11 Senator Mike Morrell served as the keynote speaker for the Veterans Dinner, which was free to veterans and immediate family members. 

On Friday, May 12, between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., there will be a food drive. Those who donate five canned good will recieve one free admission on that day only. 

Saturday, May 13, is community hero Saturday. Between 12:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., Fire Fighters, paramedics, sherfifs and police officers with valid ID's will get in free. 

On Sunday, May 14, between 12:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., participants will battle it out in a superhero themed costume contest, the proceeds of which will go towards local heroes. Residents will receive the chance to be a hero for a day by paying it forward. 

Attractions at the fair will include the Venardos Circus, Brad's World of Reptiles, All Alaskan Pig Racing, Petting Zoo, Butterfly Adventures, Mind Works, Jeremy the Juggler, Street Drum Corps, Live Stingray Encounter, Dr. Solar, and Dino Exhibit.  

Entertainment will be provided by Twinkle Time, Tina Marie, the hyptonist, Crimson Apple, Battle of the Bands, Journey's Tribute Band, Pancho Barraza, Perdidos de Sinaloa, Noel Torres, Blues Dawg Band and more. 

Carnival prices are $1 per ticket, $23 for 25 tickets, $70 for 80 tickets and $25 for a Thursday-Sunday Wristband. Children must be at least 36" to ride any of the rides. 

Admission is $10 for adults 13 and up, $5 for children ages 5-12, and children ages 4 and under are free. Veterans with valid ID's are also free. 

The fair is open from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Thurdays and Fridays and from 12:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays. 

The fair is taking place at the National Orange Show Event Center, located at 689 S E St, San Bernardino, CA 92408.
