Not everyone is that fortunate - nothing is worse than having your child proceed you in death. Such a catastrophe creates devastation on many levels and the financial hardship is the least of them; however it cannot be avoided or ignored. Bob Sturner, celebrating his 55th birthday, chose to use that moment to raise money and awareness of this growing need. Sturner, surrounded by family and friends at the 66ers game, threw out the first pitch last Saturday night and continued a tradition started by Margie Miller, a Grand Terrace realtor, to raise $5,500 for The Unforgettables Foundation. Her double nickel birthday party was followed by The Unforgettable Foundation Founder Tim Evans on his 55th birthday. The latest member of this ongoing tradition, Bob Sturner, was born and raised in New York, New York 55 years ago and he was introduced to The Unforgettables by Evans a few years back when invited to play in a golf tournament supporting the Foundation. Sturner is well-known throughout the Inland Empire as a commercial real estate broker, successful businessman and a notorious golfer. This formidable golfer started playing at the young age of 46; he is known for his long drive capability. In fact, his longest drive was 412 yards, and he has had three holes-in-one, the latest one of which was a week ago at the David L. Blake fountain Valley golf course on a 181-yard hole, using a 7-iron. Sturner has been married to his lovely wife Susie Levias-Sturner for 15-and-a-half years and they own Levias Tax Wealth Management in Riverside, California. They met at the Chamber of Commerce in Riverside. Sturner is the head of marketing and oversees the administrative areas of the business as well as working as a commercial real estate agent for NIA capital out of Ontario, California. Sturner says, "The unforgettables Foundation has been so important for so many families who have suffered a terrible loss and had no place to turn for financial help and guidance. I am so happy to be a part of the tradition that has been established each year at this time to help raise money for this needy cause, and I hope it will continue to prosper throughout our incredible board." The Unforgettables Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Tim Evans, which provides clinical ministry to children and their families assisted by Inland Empire educators, medical professionals, social workers, morticians and business owners. The Foundation's mission is to assist low income families in providing an appropriate burial for minor children. The Unforgettables Foundation is operated almost entirely by volunteers.
