COLTON>> The community is invited to donate blood at LifeStream’s Community Blood Drive at the San Bernardino County TAD office in Colton on Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The San Bernardino County TAD office is located at 1900 W. Valley Blvd. in Colton, California. Donors will receive a VIP Pass for four to the Improv Comedy Club. The comedy club features big names and up-and-comers, plus offers a full food and drink menu. Donors will also receive a free cholesterol screening and Gift of Life Donor Loyalty points that may be redeemed in the online donor store at www.LStream.org. Participants between the ages of 18-44 years may register for 'Be The Match Bone Marrow Screening' at all donor locations free of charge. Healthy individuals at least 15 years of age may donate blood. Everyone under 18 years of age must provide LifeStream with written parental consent. Parent consent forms are available at any donor center, community blood drive or at www.LStream.org. All prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process. Donating blood takes about an hour, yet can give someone a lifetime. For more information, please call 1-800-TRY GIVING. The community is also invited to join the LifeStream volunteer team. For information, call 1-800-879-4484, ext. 458. LifeStream is a private, not-for-profit, comprehensive blood center serving more than 80 medical facilities in Southern California. The LifeStream website states, "Based on the need for a readily available blood supply, LifeStream was established by the medical societies of San Bernardino and Riverside counties and has been helping to save lives by connecting donors and patients through the gift of blood since June 19, 1951."
