The Colton Joint Unified School District (CJUSD) Board Room has permanently changed locations. Starting with the Oct. 3 meeting, the CJUSD Board of Education will meet at Slover Mountain High School’s new location in the former Bloomington Middle School cafeteria building at 18829 Orange Street in Bloomington. This is the final phase of reorganization of the district’s central offices, allowing the district to consolidate existing facilities and save approximately $240,000 per year by vacating leased space on Mt. Vernon Avenue. Measure G-funded Joe Baca Middle School, which houses students and staff formerly assigned to Bloomington Middle, opened in August 2012. Slover Mountain took over the former Bloomington Middle School site in April. During other moves: • The Student Services, Facilities, Nutrition Services, Risk and Benefits, and Energy Education departments moved to the former Slover Mountain site on Hermosa Street in Colton. • Language Support Services moved to the District Office on Valencia Drive.
