Chorale Presents Best of Broadway

REDLANDS>> The Inland Master Chorale will present the Best of Broadway on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 at the First United Methodist Church, 1 East Olive Avenue in Redlands. Selections represent memorable Broadway musicals from the early days of Tin Pan Alley, the name given to the collection of New York City music publishers and songwriters who dominated the popular music of the United States through the end of the late 20th century, featuring the music of Berlin, Cohan, Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Hamlisch, Sondheim, Lerner & Loewe and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Numerous soloists will be featured including Kim Biddick in “The Music and the Mirror,” Ernie Ott in “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” Roger Biddick in “They All Laughed,” Mark Isaak in “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” Susan Meinders in “How Are Things in Glocca Morra,” Evan Christopherson in “Wilkommen,” Heather DeGuzman in “I’m Flying,” Alan Frost in “On the Street Where You Live,” Michael Hicks in “If Ever I Would Leave You,” Melissa Bossard in “Broadway Baby” and Jenny Parks in “Tomorrow.” The 60-member chorale will be accompanied by three-piece combo and narrators will provide Broadway historical tidbits throughout the performance. Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door and $10 for students and children. Concerts begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Children under five are not admitted. Advance tickets sold by chorale members, online at www.inlandmasterchorale.org or reservation line 909-798-4462. The chorale season will conclude with Director’s Favorites on May 20-21, 2017. Artistic Director Roger W. Duffer has announced that this will be his final season with the chorale.
