High school seniors, college students hoping to transfer, and all others interested in attending Cal State San Bernardino in fall 2015 must file their applications during the priority application period for 2015-2016 to receive full admission consideration. The application period for the 2015-2016 school year ends on Nov. 30, 2014. “We anticipate that we will have a record number of applicants for the 2014-2015 academic year, but we will only accept fall 2015 admission applications during the Oct. 1 through Nov. 30 time window,” said Olivia Rosas, associate vice president for enrollment services at CSUSB. “It’s crucial that students fill out their applications completely and pay attention to all of the deadlines. We will do all we can to accommodate every student who is eligible.” Those who apply during the Oct. 1 through Nov. 30 priority application period must qualify academically and complete all of the necessary requirements for admission. All applicants can complete their applications by logging onto CSUMentor.edu, a web-based system that helps students plan and apply to the CSU online. It is designed to help students and their families learn about the CSU system, select a CSU campus, finance their higher education and apply for admission. The site offers technical support, course-check and open and closed campus information. Rosas recommends that students pay close attention to all admissions information they receive from the university, such as deadlines, event dates, and required additional documents. Students are strongly encouraged to take the entrance exams such as the SAT or ACT as well as placement tests such as the Entry Level Math exam (ELM) and the English Placement Test (EPT) as soon as possible to improve their chances of getting admitted to the university and know what classes they will take when they get here. “The next step after getting admitted to the university is to secure financial assistance in the form of grants, scholarships, loans and so on,” Rosas said. Students in need of assistance with their electronic applications may call 800-GO-TO-XAP (or 800-468-6927) for technical support. The service is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students with additional questions about applying to CSUSB can contact the university’s office of admissions and student recruitment at 909-537-5188. Students interested in applying to Cal State San Bernardino can find more information at the university’s admissions office website at http://admissions.csusb.edu. They also can contact CSUSB’s Office of Admissions and Student Recruitment at 909-537-5188 to set up an appointment with a counselor. Graduate and post-baccalaureate students should contact the graduate admissions office at 909-537-5030 or visit the graduate studies website at http://gradstudies.csusb.edu for more information.
