Jacob Bright Honored with Military Banner Installation Ceremony

On July 29, on F and 7th Street, a military banner installation ceremony honored a local hero: Jacob Bright, who is currently serving in the Army. Bright is one of the youngest men that have been honored with a military banner in Colton. Entering the Army in February of last year, he looks forward to serving a five-year term. His mother, Yvonne Bright, expressed, “I miss him, but I’m very proud of him.” Bright shared that he wanted to do something meaningful with his life, and being in the US Army was always one of his goals. “His dad and I have always said, it’s either military or school,” his mother mentioned while chuckling. “No matter what he does, I know he will succeed in everything. His whole family is just very proud of him.“
