The Grand Terrace Woman’s Club (GTWC) has been donating to our Grand Terrace City Library every year, and this year is no exception. This year, the GTWC collected more than 100 books, audio books and DVD’s to donate to the library on Nov. 4. The GTWC has been active in the community since 1908. The GTWC recently participated in the Grand Terrace Halloween Festival by providing a hot dog, chips and water for only $1. They participate in the Grand Terrace County Fair and contribute to local charitable organizations, such as Option House, Santa Claus Inc, Veteran’s Affairs, Ronald McDonald House, as well as provide nursing scholarships. In June, the GTWC made a donation of $400 to each of the local school libraries, enabling the librarians to purchase new books. In October, they donated $200 to the Grand Terrace Library Emerging Artist Program. Each year during the holidays, the GTWC collects food and gifts for the less fortunate in the community. Members of the club who participated in the book donation include Adele Lara, her mother Elida Ortiz, Ana Lugo, Edna Best, Lisa Boon, Barbara Martin, and Cecilia Perez.
