Voice of The People: Re: Starting a Fire Where There is no Smoke

In response to the article submitted by Mr. Robert A. Rosales, 93-year-old resident of Colton: I wholeheartedly agree with you, 'The proof is in the pudding.' In clarification, no mention was made by me not giving 'all the council members a fair chance and not pick on the new kid on the block.' If opining is construed as 'not nice and fair,' I do not know to whom I should issue an apology, if necessary - Mr Rosales or Councilman Luis Gonzalez? As Mr. Rosales advises, 'And Dr. G, please do not kowtow to the "challenge" placed on you.' The challenge to Councilman Luis Gonzalez will be not to be thin-skinned. The residents of Colton, in specific, District 4, will scrutinize, question, lecture, finger point, confront or affirm Councilman Luis Gonzalez's decision making on behalf of his constituency. Moreover, in a somewhat related topic, I am confident that Councilman Luis Gonzalez will work in concert with newly appointed Planning Commissioner Gary Grossich. Mr. Rosales, you are correct: the proof is in the pudding. In specific, Mr. Gary Grossich, whom I have known since high school, has been a successful businessman in Colton. He has provided many jobs and taxes to the city of Colton. His business acumen will serve him well as a planning commissioner. Similarly, Mr. Richard Prieto, whom I have known since grade school, has spent over 30 years as a planning commissioner for the city of Colton, as well as having coached the youth of Colton for many years. I am optimistic that Councilman Luis Gonzalez is capable of serving the residents of Colton. I am confident that newly selected Planning Commissioner Grossich and experienced Planning Commissioner Prieto will dutifully fulfill their duties. Mr. Rosales, as it relates to Councilman Luis Gonzalez: let's see what proof is in his pudding.
