Colton is embarking on an exciting journey towards a cleaner, greener future as the city's new waste cart distribution officially began in September and will continue through the end of December! This highly anticipated upgrade, part of Colton's new contract with CR&R Environmental Services, promises to revolutionize waste management and keep our beautiful city pristine.

Residents are buzzing with excitement as the new, sleek solid black carts with State-Mandated colored lids are being exchanged on their current service day. To ensure a smooth transition, residents are encouraged to have all their current carts (empty or full) out on their service day to guarantee they are exchanged for the new, vibrant models.

The New Color-Coded System:

 * Trash: Solid Black with a Black Lid

 * Recycle: Solid Black with a Blue Lid

 * Organics (Food/Green Waste Combo): Solid Black with a Lime Green Lid

This intuitive color-coded system isn't just about aesthetics; it's a critical step in meeting state mandates for waste diversion and simplifying proper sorting for every household.

Community Excitement is Overflowing!

The enthusiasm for these new carts is palpable across Colton. 11-year-old Damin, an aspiring "Future Trash driver," is reportedly "so excited" about getting the new carts, a testament to how even the youngest residents are embracing this positive change.

Long-time residents are equally thrilled. Lydia Gutierrez, who has lived in Colton for eight years, exclaimed, "Excited since we've been here we haven't had new bins! Love the color system!" This sentiment was echoed by , a resident on Herbert Lane, who simply stated, "The color organization is absolutely fantastic!"

A New Era of Cleanliness with CR&R

The partnership with CR&R Environmental Services marks a new chapter for Colton's waste management. This initiative reflects the city's commitment to maintaining clean streets, fostering a healthier environment, and implementing new ideas to keep our community sparkling. With these new bins, Colton is not just collecting waste; it's investing in the long-term beauty and sustainability of our city.

Got Questions? CR&R is Here to Help!

For any questions or comments regarding the new carts or the distribution schedule, CR&R can be easily reached via email at ColtonCarts@crrmail.com.

The cart distribution will continue to roll out neighborhood by neighborhood until the end of December. While specific street-by-street mapping for delivery dates isn't available publicly, residents should simply place their current carts out on their regular service day to participate in the exchange.

Let's all embrace these new initiatives with enthusiasm and work together to keep Colton a beautiful place to live, work, and play!
