World Mission Society Church of God to Host Volunteer Blood Drive

On Sunday, April 19, the World Mission Society Church of God (General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim) will play host to 500 volunteers as well as the staff from three blood centers: Huntington Hostpial, LifeStream and the Red Cross in a large-scale blood drive. As every two seconds someone is in need of blood, it is without being said that the gift of blood is the gift of life. While the blood demand continues to climb, blood supply has decreased over the past decade. Statistics show that one out of every four people will require blood at one point in their lives, members sympathize for the recipients of their donations and regard the recipient's life as important as their own, remembering the words, "Do to others as you would have them do to you." The Church of God emphasizes the sacrifice that Christ gave through His blood and set forth the example of "Spreading Life through the Love of the Passover." Starting early Sunday morning, members will gather in the Colton Church to make preparations for the blood drive. Preceding the blood drive there will be an orchestra performance and opening ceremony at 10 a.m. Following this, the drive will begin as 500 members of the church of God will take their turn donating a pint of blood. The drive will continue through the afternoon and conclude once all members have donated, around 4 p.m. We hope that you will be able to join us in the event. As shortages of blood supply occur during the summertime, we hope this event can encourage all members of of community to make a donation to save a life as summer approaches.
