Colton Tball kicked off their 32nd season on Saturday at McKinley Park. Many community members, in addition to the parents and Board members, joined in on the festivities in support of the over 200 players registered to play this season. The league is run completely by volunteers and sponsorships are a big part of what makes the program possible through funding. The opening ceremonies featured booths from every team in the league, all in efforts to raise money for rewards for the players like pizza parties, banners and practice shirts. Other activities included several games, goldfish prizes and airbrushing. Vendors also sold items from food to bows and beach shells to major league baseball aluminum signs. This season in particular is in dedication to Jerry Magana, a coach for the Reds, who very recently passed away during the off season. Magana has two sons who play in the league and has been involved for the last few years. In honor of his memory, his wife and sons were presented with a plaque during the event. The first week of games begins this week! All games are open to the public. Catch a game at the lower fields of McKinley Elementary throughout the week. Everyone is looking forward to playing.
