On Wednesday, Dec. 2, second grader Leah Lopez was principal for the day at Paul J. Rogers Elementary.
During the school's annual Career Day event, held in October, all students received a bingo card. With this card they ask our guests three questions to get their square signed off. So the students must visit at least six presenters to get bingo.
All cards are put into a box and later a drawing is held to select a winner. This year's lucky student was Leah Lopez. On Dec. 2, Principal Lisa Mannes showed Leah some of her daily duties. Together they made sure all students were in class when the bell rang, visited classrooms to make sure everything was running smoothly, and spoke with various staff members. Throughout the day, Lead learned more about what it takes to keep the school running.
Leah shares that she enjoyed her day being called Miss Lopez, and the students saying "Hi Principal."
