City Council Recognizes Flor's Diner As Successful Colton Business

At the recent Council Meeting Nov 21 Council Member Dr.G presented Florenzia Vineyard, Manager and daughter of Flor’s Diner with a Business Focus Recognition Award for its successful business operation in the City of Colton. This well-known establishment has been in the Rancho Plaza Shopping Center since 2017, and over the last few years, has been a favorite place for locals to gather for breakfast or lunch. Flor’s Diner is under the ownership of Magdalena Rebollar, Florenzia’s mother, who actually started this business 21 years ago in San Bernardino. The entire family was in attendance for the presentation.

To say that Flor’s Diner has been a successful family business is probably a good description. It not only describes its small business model, but also describes its “home-grown” roots. This “home-grown” concept finds its foundation based on the food being “homemade fresh” every day, that everyone in the family works there and does their part, and the fact that Magdalena had started this business from scratch with no prior restaurant business knowledge. Needless to say, they built this restaurant from the ground up.

Given these facts, their menu of great-tasting basic American food items and excellent customer service led to Magdalena’s desire to expand, and Colton was the perfect location. We’re glad she came to Colton. It’s simply a great place to have breakfast. The coffee is always ready, and you can get your favorite breakfast platters made to order.

Originally from Mexico City, Magdalena and Salvador came to California to start a new life. They were able to find a temporary place in Santa Ana – a garage for themselves and their four children. From there they moved into a section of a house, then an apartment, Anaheim, Riverside, and then to San Bernardino. Picking up odd jobs along the way, Magdalena decided she wanted to start a business of her own since she had some success selling shoes, and then clothes. She finally had the idea of opening up a restaurant, which the whole family thought was a crazy idea because she didn’t even cook. Her response was not only on point, but settled the family argument by saying, “well, people always need to eat.”

Flor’s Diner has a few employees but essentially is run by the entire family. Magdalena, mom, is the owner and administrator, Salvador Rebollar, dad, does all the inventory and purchasing; the two boys, Jorge Rebollar and Edward Rebollar, run the San Bernardino Restaurant, and the two girls, Florenzia Vineyard and Vanessa Green operate Flor’s Diner, which is proud to announce the posting of their new sign out in front. Everyone is invited to stop by and see it. They are open seven days a week, 7:00am to 2:00pm. They are nearby, they welcome everyone, and you can park right near the front door. The atmosphere is comfortable, and you will always be greeted with a smile.

The entire family and their crew are to be congratulated for their tremendous effort in establishing Flor’s Diner as a successful business in Colton. We truly hope that they will continue their successful business for years to come, and we want to recognize them for providing a wonderful convenience to our residents, and making a valuable contribution to our local economy.
