CITY TALK Honors Raymond Dorado for 41 Years of Successful Business

Last Thursday night, friends and family gathered at the PIzzadilly Restaurant to honor Raymond Dorado, owner, who is retiring after 41 years of doing business in Colton.

Dorado started working at Pizzadilly in 1982, as a pizza maker and a counter sales person. “The owner at that time was Mr Ken Stam,” remembers Dorado, who elaborated, “After working there a short time I became the Manager and in 1989   I bought the business along with my partner, Anthony Lewis.” According to Dorado, the name of the business was always “Pizzadilly” and reflected not only the chief menu item, but the fact that the pizza can come with “the works.”  This business model worked well when he started and continues to work well today. The Pizzadilly brand is well-known.

Throughout his tenure, Raymond, Anthony, and the crew; Gloria (sister), Denise (niece), and a couple of employees (as needed), have operated a successful pizza business and have established themselves as a community landmark for an entire generation. His commitment to his business and to the community of Colton has made an indelible mark on the satisfaction, joy and well-being of his customers. His reputation is excellent and the downtown location is known by everyone in Colton. This is simply a great place to have pizza, celebrate special events, and be with family and friends.

The efforts put into the business, including the quality of food, expanded menu offerings, and unique decorations that trumpet “Dodgertown,” brings smiles and great memories to thousands who have frequented this business.

Raymond Dorado will truly be missed, but according to our conversations, he’ll always be available to help when needed as the business operation was sold to his niece and her husband, Sherwin, thus keeping the business operation in the family, hopefully for the next generation.

We certainly would like to congratulate Raymond Delgado for his long-record of successful business in Colton, and wish him the very best as he moves on to the next chapter of his life, possibly including travel. Thank you Raymond for being an important part of our lives and being an important contributor to the Colton business community. May your family and home be blessed.
