Alex Debogorski, the “Ice Road Trucker,” is coming to Colton on Friday, Oct. 18. Debogorski will be here at FMB Truck Outfitters from noon until 3 p.m. to help FMB Truck Outfitters celebrate its 40th anniversary. Residents are invited to join in for a car show, vendor displays and a free lunch provided by Ceasar the Taco Man. One of the highest-rated series ever to hit the History channel, Ice Road Truckers follows the heart-pounding adventures of the tough-as-nails truckers who risk peril every day to deliver goods and supplies in Alaska and across Canada’s frozen north. Debogorski is one of the stars of the show; he, like the employees at FMB Truck Outfitters, knows trucks. That’s why he’s has chosen to help the truck company celebrate its 40-year milestone. Debogorski is a natural storyteller who knows how to spin tales about his colorful life growing up in the backwoods. Whether he’s recounting tales about his hair-raising confrontations with bears, calculating the strength of newly-formed ice, divulging the secrets of providing security in a barroom full of combative drunken miners, or saving the life of another trucker, he keeps listeners wanting more. Debogorski will be posing for pictures, and signing books and autographs while sharing tales of his adventures—and misadventures—in the north during the celebratory event. FMB Truck Oufitters is located at 1033 W. Valley Blvd., in Colton.
