In celebration of July as National Park and Recreation Month, Colton Community Services is presenting its 31 Days of Play. For 31 days, the community is invited to come out and participate in over 31 different activities including picnics in the park to movies at the pool, with something new going on every day of the month. Most activities are free to the public, but some require a small participation fee and event preregistration. Activities include softball, swimming, breakfast clubs, movies in the park, beach trips, picnics, summer cooking, bike riding, dancing and juggling, to name a few. Activities this week include the July 11 “Just Dance” activity beginning at 5 p.m. at the Gonzales Community Center; the July 12 “Let’s Get Moving! 50+” activity at 10:15 a.m. in the Luque Community Center; and the July 13 celebration of the City of Colton’s 126th Anniversary from 4 to 9 p.m. at Colton High School (CHS). The series will end on Wednesday, July 31, with a free pool-party celebration from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Gonzales Community Center pool.
