ALL>> Earlier this month, Chairman James Ramos attended the 122nd Annual California State Association of Counties Conference in Palm Springs where he was elected unanimously by his peers to serve as Chair of the Urban Counties Caucus and President for the Latino Caucus of California Counties. “Our county should be proud knowing that Chairman Ramos will continue to represent us statewide on important issues that affect our community,” stated Vice-Chairman Robert Lovingood on the recent leadership roles gained by his colleague. Ramos will serve a one-year term as both Chair of the Urban Counties Caucus and President for the Latino Caucus of California Counties. He has previously served as Vice President for the Latino Caucus and been an active board member of the Urban Counties Caucus. “I am excited to take on these new leadership roles and to work closely with county supervisors from throughout the state,” Ramos said. “We face similar issues and have common goals that can be achieved by working together to better our communities.” The Urban Counties Caucus addresses the needs of California’s high population counties. The caucus enables urban counties to pool and coordinate their efforts to pursue legislative action that reflects the needs of the state’s most populous areas. The Latino Caucus of California Counties is an organization that encourages the engagement and involvement of its Board and membership to promote Latino leaders.
