In two months, the usual burst of New Year's Resolutions to burn off holiday calories are coming! So why not start now? Come in to work-out at the Gonzales Community Center, and beat the cravings to the punch. The Adult Fitness Membership has all types of passes available to fit your time and budget from daily passes, monthly passes, 3-month and annual passes. The Adult Fitness Pass entitles the holder to unlimited use of the weight room. The fitness pass also allows access to the basketball gymnasium during adult open gym time, access to the swimming pool during adult lap swim time in the summer season, and one hour use, per day, of the racquetball court. The Gonzales Center weight room is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The center is closed on Sundays and designated holidays. Memberships can be purchased at the Gonzales Center front desk. Valid identification is required for all participants. The center is one of four neighborhood community centers in Colton. Originally name the "Colton Community Center", it was re-named in April 2003 in honor of past Mayor and Council Member, Frank A. Gonzales. The center is located north of the 10 Freeway in Cesar Chavez Park at 670 Colton Avenue. As the largest city facility, the community center offers a range of amenities for all residents, including a basketball gymnasium, fitness room, racquetball court, dance room, four meeting rooms, and a pool. The facility also hosts many programs and activities for youth and adults alike. Classes, programs, and events are held throughout the year and friendly staff are here to help. Observe the following days the facility will be closed: Nov. 9, Nov. 25-27, Dec. 24 and 25, Jan. 1, Jan. 18.
