Attempted Homicide in Colton

On July 4th at about 06:30 hours, an adult male (victim) was walking on Washington Street when two suspects approached the victim and got into a verbal argument with him.  One suspect produced a handgun and shot at the victim striking him in the upper shoulder area.  Officers made contact with the victim and he was transported to a local hospital where he was undergoing surgery.  The suspects were gone upon police arrival and an area check was conducted.  The Colton Police Department Detective Division is investigating this attempted homicide and is encouraging anyone with information to call the Colton Police Department at 909-370-5028 and speak with Detective Jaeger.
