COLTON>> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Date of Incident: 05/30/2017

Time of Incident: 5:24 PM

Location of Incident: 1000 Block of S Mt. Vernon Ave

Victim (s):

Suspect: Jonathan Chavez, 30 YOA of Colton

DR Number: CPD case # 17-03576

Summary:

On the above date and time officers responded to an armed robbery that occurred at a business in the city of Colton. Upon arrival it was found that the suspect had entered the store and demanded that the clerk open the register. The suspect displayed a handgun to the clerk and at this time the suspect was taken to the ground by a Good Samaritan. The suspect was detained until officers arrived on scene. The suspect was identified as Jonathan Chavez of Colton. Chavez was arrested for armed robbery. He was also found to have an active no-bail warrant for burglary.
