Voice of the People

Great story by Breeanna Jent exposing the antics of Bloomington resident Gary Grossich and his contingent of rabble rousers, Citizens for Colton First, who fancy themselves the kingmakers of Colton. I've been made privy to the papers Grossich and his group have been passing around accusing mayoral candidate Frank Gonzales of using his influence to have speed bumps put on his street, and the one common name I find on all the paperwork, going back to 2008, is Gary Grossich's candidate for mayor, Richard De La Rosa. De La Rosa, who was councilman for the district at the time, brought the project to the city for review and approval, and as we have now learned, the project was approved at least a year before Gonzales even ran for office. What's becoming increasingly clear is that Grossich and his cohorts knew the information about Frank's involvement to be untrue but used it anyway to try and discredit him in his bid for mayor against their candidate. Now that they've been caught in a lie, Grossich and his breakfast club have neither apologized to Frank or to city residents for their deception, but instead, changed the subject by stating that the report wasn't about investigating Frank but rather Public Works. They even denied their affiliation with Citizens for Colton First even though everyone of them quoted is a member and are the same ones quoted in every story that involves Citizens for Colton First. Personally, I've had it with the lies coming from Gary Grossich and his gang of wannabes who are bent on controlling local Colton politics. Their deception in this matter is very telling and I hope when voters make their decision in November, they keep this in mind.
